Industry Partners

Since NEWW is aiming to solve the challenges of the projects topics with a very industry-driven approach, having different project partners from various industry fields is crucial to the success of the project activities. In the following, the participating industry partners are introduced, sorted by the country they are mainly operating from.

From Germany

The Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesische Wasserverband (OOWV) has been ensuring a reliable supply of drinking water for 75 years. Since 1999 it has also taken over the task of wastewater disposal in many municipalities. Around 950 employees work every day to ensure reliable water management for people from the East Frisian Islands to the district of Vechta, and from the Ems to the Weser. 13 operating centers look after the 15,000 km long pipeline network and the 15 waterworks around the clock. 44 sewage treatment plants treat the wastewater in an environmentally friendly manner and return it to the water cycle.

ecco ecology + communication Unternehmensberatung GmbH was founded in 1993. The consulting services include the process-accompanying introduction and support of integrated management systems (quality, environmental management, occupational health and safety) as well as management and strategy development. In addition to management systems, ecco Unternehmensberatung also supports its clients in the implementation of sustainability measures or the preparation of sustainability reports. Another focus of the service is the implementation of behavior- and culture-based occupational health and safety (Safety Culture Ladder). ecco Unternehmensberatung GmbH has been an institute of the Carl von
Ossietzky University of Oldenburg since 2000.

abat AG is a non-public stock corporation with its headquarters in Bremen in Northern Germany. They are an SAP service provider, software developer, and supplier of complete solutions, primarily for the core industries of automotive and discrete manufacturing as well as for logistics processes and for production control.

AWB Stadt Oldenburg: The Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb Stadt Oldenburg is a municipal enterprise of the City of Oldenburg. Its goal is to provide cost-effective and reliable waste disposal. The range of waste management tasks extends from the collection and transport of waste, its environmentally compatible treatment and disposal to waste and customer advice.

aqua & waste International GmbH is an independent engineering and planning office in the field of environmental protection and is based in Hanover, Germany. Since its foundation in 2002, they have successfully implemented numerous projects worldwide in the fields of wastewater treatment, waste management, biogas production as well as project management and control.

The SAP University Competence Center (UCC) Magdeburg is an independent unit of the Faculty of Computer Science at Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg in Germany. The SAP UCC Magdeburg currently hosts SAP solutions for more than 650 German and international institutions and educational facilities. The UCC enables its users to integrate modern SAP technology into their teaching and research.

From Rwanda

Centre d’Accueil Fiat is a motel located in Gicumbi City in North Province, Rwanda. Its space can host any type of event, from focused small meetings to large groups.

A particular attention is drawn on waste and rainwater management to be reused. It is in that scope that the Centre d’Accueil Fiat is collaborating in Network for Labour-Market oriented Education in Waste and Water Management for the Sub-Saharan Region (NEWW project) in order to improve its sustainable development specifically in reusing liquid and organic waste.

Vision Agrobusiness Farm (VAF): VAF started as a project in 2008 as a competent producer of eggs and meat chickens on the local market of Rwanda. In 2014 it was founded as a company to address the critical needs from livestock and crop production to ensure food security. Located in Northern Province, Gicumbi district, VAF has experience in waste management, specifically liquid and organic waste, and irrigation.

From Ghana

The company aims at delivering operationally efficient, cost effective and affordable services and products through the application of appropriate technology and innovation.
